    • SOOOO SLOOOOOOW This unit looks great! Has a great interface for the most part and is pretty good at some things.. however its soooooo sloooooow!!Every function from changing sources to navigating through any menu system takes time. I even found the GPS to be sluggish.. I would turn onto a street and it would take 3 to 5 seconds or so to figure out that I even turned.That was disappointing to me consider Garmin GPS was the reason I got the thing also the EQ is terrible!! Its pretty hard to customize your sound to get it the way you want and is definitely not easy to do and is quite time consumingThings that I did like was the flashy look of the interface and the phone book was actually pretty decent but however the fact that even this was sluggish made it frustrating going through it.Its almost like Kenwood released a product thats processor is underpowered therefore making the entire unit too slow.Its too bad actually because if it was more responsive it would be a really awesome unit.I returned the 6180 and instead went with the Pioneer X930BT and am pretty happy with it. its extremely responsive as soon as you press a button it does it and the Ipod intergration is much better.Also to my surprise I found the GPS to actually work better then the Garmin in the 6180?? Go figure I always used Garmin but I guess Pioneer isn't that bad after all.
    awesome unit I had this unit installed in my 2001 F150 King Ranch. Previous reviews were talking about it being slow. It is not slow to me. Few seconds to boot up and thats it. I added rear camera it all works awesome. The application chart will say it wont fit but my audio guys said it would. It looks like it came from factory.
    BIG FAIL for Kenwood I was looking for a good indash nav system for my wife's car and the main features I was interested in were the ability to add Mexico maps and dualzone audio for the kids in the back in our 4Runner. I settled on this unit because it had those features plus the Lane Assist. I ended up purchasing 2 of them one for my wife's car and one for mine. I liked those features along with updatable maps and firmware ipod & usb connectivity sirrius XM and Pandora ready rear cam option and so many other features. However that's where the attraction ends. As it stands I will be returning both units very shortly. My comments below reflect my experience after having these units for 2 weeksAlthough these units look great and are packed with features they are seriously underpowered. My biggest gripes are that the nav and bluetooth are unreliable the screen keeps freezing and it often reboots at random. From there the list just keeps growing.The GPS system is constantly running behind your actual position and seems to get confused a lot. It makes you take grossly longer and unnecessary routes than you need to. It will tell you to take a turn/exit and then it will change its mind at the very last moment or it will alert you after you have passed your turn/exit. This was not a onetime occasion it has done so repeatedly. Other times the voice guidance will be active but the screen will freeze. Once it went completely dark forcing me to shut it down restart and reenter the driving directions while driving a long time to have eyes off the road.The bluetooth constantly disconnects often in the middle of a call. This is especially aggravating since we are in Southern California where cell phone citations are a hot subject. My wife has given up altogether with bluetooth connectivity with her iphone. When a connection is established it takes forever and a day for the contacts to load. Scrolling through them is so difficult so it's just easier to pick up the phone and dial. When it receives text messages it only displays 13 words of the message.Radio reception is absolutely horrible.
