Not so much of a boss but a crew member This headunit is alright for the price but it loads slow from each input. What really irked me was the aux and the usb it was a wtf moment when I had to mount the headunit a little further just because the aux port was directly on the side of the screen. The usb is not a regular usb you have to plug in another plug to actually have a usb drive on it. The Dvds and the CDs go into one button but the button doesnt even say CD it makes a difference when someone not familiar to the headunit tries to use it. The aux input is just a huge blue screen and it can get annoying the CD drive is just a huge BOSS logo on it and doesnt display artwork. If your looking for style dont go for this one my friend on the first day gave me crap about how odd the interface looks Ima keep this for the sound but needless to say Im upgrading very soon.
Not to my level I did give this unit a try First off its a GREAT deal for the price especially if your putting this in a work vehicle or something like that. I bought it for about 175 bucks and got it all installed and hooked up in about 20 minutes and it fuctioned fine. the menus are indeed 8 bit looking but I could have lived with that. The unit would not keep the audio settings however it would keep all others. I rechecked all the wires on the back to make sure i didn't inadvertantly hook it up incorrectly but it was correctly wired. The navigation thought the menus was painful it took like 4 clicks just to get to the main screen to adjust the audio!! The bluetooth worked The phone menu was very sloppily laid out and it didn't function properly. It did stream music but it had no song data and didn't sound the best. But You get what you pay for! Its a 7 inch screen that plays video if you want something cheap its a good choice I ended up buying a 6.
Review on boss indash player first overall I looked at the reviews before buying this item and it had decent reviews so I took the chance. it was a mistake it looks cheap and even the touchscreen is cheaper looking quality doesn't even sound good the DVD is to dark even wen u lighten it! Honestly I wanna return it but installed it already and just pay alil more for a good one I advise whos thinking of buying this one to just spend alil more on another one trust.
Great for the price I got the radio in 2 days for free shiping the price is great and the radio worked great. I had been looking for a affordable bluetooth head unit and this one works great my music and phone and nav all play through my stereo without any wires its great! movies look great and the speaker power is great and my subs are wired to the sub input which makes it easy to turn the subs up or down with ease. The only down side is the software looks like the first touch screen ever but what ever as long as it works.
The price says it all You really get what you pay for. It is nice on a budget to get all of the potions it has. I have a Honda Civic 04 and also got a face plate to match up with this but the deck is too big.
Don't get this junk I paid 110 to get it installed and within 10 mIns of having it the Bluetooth stopped working.
Worth the the 180 i paid for it 2005 buick lesabre Not a direct fit replacement. First you have to take a dremel tool cut out the back plastic in the dash. Next you take a grinder wheel and cut about a half an inch off of a metal bracket behind the plastic you just cut out and be very careful of your wiring harness's back there. third step is to take a torch heat up the vent plastic duct work untill it start to melt and get soft take the deck wrap a towel around it and push it in. It will go back all the way in and form the vent perfect fit. pull the deck back out and make sure there is no holes in the vent. If there is just heat it back up and touch it with a towel to seal it up or you can use some epoxy. Now you will take the dash piece and the grinder and have to square up the top a little and the bottom take about a 1/4 or more to grind off so that the deck can eject freely. You will also need a digital interface wiring harness for the onstar and chime with the factory amps. It can be ordered online for around 80 or best buy has them for 150. Thats about it. Looks great and works decent. Probably wouldnt have bought the double din if i knew it was gonna take all the work and time to get it in and looking like it belongs in the car and not sticking out an inch or two. It takes time but with patience it can be done and flush mounted. Overall the deck works like described the instruction manuall lacks info. To play ipod touch or iphone you go to the bluetooth phone screen and sync it up and just hit play on your phone. If you go to the ipod icon it just says not supported or something along those lines. The book has no info on it.
Chassis is larger than double din This is my second install for a Ford F150. The first was a 2005 which is my primary truck and this a 2004. They are basically the same in terms of Dash layout. I am using a Metra 955812 Double Din MultiKit for both installs. The first installation was with a Pioneer Avic X930BT and it was a piece of cake dropping right into place. It was a perfect fit and all the holes lined up with the Metra. It really is a thing of beauty I love how it integrates into the Center Dash Bezel and it looks almost factory installed.Now for the Boss what a nightmare. The chassis is just enough larger than a Double Din to make it a severe pain. I had to take a jigsaw to the Metra Bezel and remove a 1/4 inch from the bottom of the opening and at least 1/8 inch from either side of the opening. My cutting was less than perfect so my installation is a bit of a mess. To make matters worse I also had to drill holes in the Metra side brackets to get proper alignment. All told it took more than an hour of screwing around to get the Boss to work with the MultiKit Double Din. Thankfully this is my own truck and is basically a beater for our vacation property. Also I'm not an professional installer. I definitely would have lost money on the deal if I was and the customer would not have been all that happy.I've just finished soldering the harness together with an OEM Ford Wire Harness Adapter. I'll do the final installation this weekend and report back on how the actual radio works.
Boss BV9560B Received item on time easy to install. I bought a used one and found out I had missing parts and no instruction manual no usb wire to connect to Ipod and a bag of misc screws and the mounting brackets were bent and could not be used. Went to Boss's web site to look and manual and doesnt match the unit I have. After looking looking and various units I found one that matched somewhat.
