  • Dangerous much??? This product scares the heck out of me. Drivers are distracted enough by cell phones passengers shaving while driving etc. Now they can put a DVD player on their dashboard and watch a movie instead of the road?! I hope no one driving the same roads I do gets one of these.
Some techncial difficulty I really wanted to love this radio. It was a lightning deal at $175 so I took a chance with no reviews posted at the time. Out of the box it is very cool. The device was properly labeled and easy to match up to the wire harness I bought. As someone else said though the instruction manual for this leaves much to be desired. I still don't know what half the buttons do on this machine.Cons1 The radio will suddenly change stations on its own. It doesn't happen all the time but it does happen. EDIT I think this has something to do with searching for a traffic station. I've turned off that setting and it seems to be ok.2 If it doesn't change stations occasionally it will play for 20 seconds then go to static.3 Sometimes the sound seems to be hollow even when I have perfect reception. It will jump in and out of have a clear sound.4 It is finicky when playing DVDs and you want to navigate the menu. On some DVDs I insert the default playing mode is to have director's commentary on. Why I have no idea. Trying to turn it off is a pain. Sometimes it will let you enter the main menu to go to features but other times it will take you straight out of DVD mode and into the Unit's main menu to choose a function e.g. radio bluetooth etc.. Nothing is consistent.5 The clock is super small and the time is always off. Sometimes it will be in the standard 12 hr format with am/pm but other times it will go into military time and still have the am/pm. For example 1635 am. Also this unit doesn't leave the clock on the screen when you turn the radio off. It's a shame since I don't have another internal clock in my truck. Some of the nicer units will leave the clock there for you.
Really? I don't understand why people give bad reviews to things they clearly haven't bought or understand. This unit is made to prevent video from playing unless the ebrake is on! Yes there are ways to circumvent it but it is still absurd to give it a bad review based on the people that might be using it illegally around you.I just got this in the mail after a lightning deal for $175. I uploaded some pictures but should have it installed by the weekend and will update this review once I have been able to experience it for a while and give you some true insight to the product.Edit I got it installed after I got my wire harness in. Very painless and easy to install. The unit itself it's not so great. There are so many areas that I can certainly tell this thing may just not live up to continuous use. Here's my Pro/Con listPro1. Cheap. Got it on a lightning deal for $175. You can't beat that anywhere on a new unit.2. Lots of inputs and outputs. See my pictures for a reference.3. Easy to install. It actually has it's own wiring harness so I was able to solder that harness to another harness I ordered to go from stock wiring to after market. You could EASILY use wire caps though.4. Decent picture. All things considered it is a pretty clear picture. The only issue you will have is viewing dark movies in daylight. At night this thing is crystal clear.5. Expandable. SD Card. USB. DVD/CD.
Item not working When I bought this product I hoped to give a positive review to support a not so mainstream car audio brand.Item shipment came in seemingly great shape. Installed it. The screen came up. After a few seconds as I try to navigate with the touch screen smoke came out and the screen stopped working. I was able to insert a CD and it started playing my music but the screen never came on after that.I'm disappointed. I'm going back to mainstream brands.
